This isolation blood cortisol test measures the level of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, to evaluate how well the adrenal and pituitary glands are functioning. This test is normally done in the morning when cortisol levels are highest, and sometimes again in the evening to check for normal daily fluctuations. It helps assess stress response, hormone balance, or potential adrenal gland disorders. This tests for:
