This isolation blood cortisol test measures the level of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, to evaluate how well the adrenal and pituitary glands are functioning. This test does not need to be performed fasted, but is normally done in the morning when cortisol levels are highest, and sometimes again in the evening to check for normal daily fluctuations. It helps assess stress response, hormone balance, or potential adrenal gland disorders.

After order completion, a provider will submit your Lab Requisition Form to Labcorp, within 24 (business) hours. You will also be emailed a copy of your LRF to take to your nearest Labcorp with valid photo ID. Your results will be available in your Labcorp Patient Portal as soon as they become available, and we will securely email you a PDF copy.
