This panel is curated for women who may be entering or post-menopause, designed to assess current hormones and provide insight for potential HRT treatment if desired. Testing key hormones—estradiol, estrone, progesterone, total testosterone, LH, and FSH—is critical. Estradiol and estrone levels provide insights into the body’s primary sources of estrogen postmenopausal, vital for evaluating symptoms like hot flashes or osteoporosis risk. LH and FSH can confirm menopausal status by indicating diminished ovarian function, while progesterone and testosterone levels help assess overall hormonal balance and influence decisions on comprehensive HRT regimens. This lab includes an option to add Anti-Mullerian Hormone, which is an indicator of ovarian reserve and can provide additional useful insights.

We usually recommend LH/FSH and estradiol during early follicular phases if a menstrual cycle is still present and regular, but progesterone (when a primary concern or exploring HRT) is best taken 7 days post-ovulation.
