This test provides a strong foundation for assessing kidney function, identifying early signs of dysfunction, and detecting potential inflammatory or metabolic contributors to renal health. It includes:
Complete Metabolic Panel (CMP): Evaluates electrolytes, creatinine, BUN, glucose, liver function, and calcium, all essential for understanding kidney function and overall metabolic health.
Cystatin C with eGFR: Provides a more accurate eGFR calculation, especially in patients with atypical muscle mass (e.g., elderly, malnourished, or athletes) or eating high-protein diets.
Uric Acid: Detects hyperuricemia, which can indicate early kidney dysfunction or gout and provides insights into metabolic health.
Phosphorus: Elevated levels can suggest reduced kidney function, especially in chronic kidney disease (CKD) or secondary hyperparathyroidism.
CRP (C-Reactive Protein, High Sensitivity):A marker for systemic inflammation, which can exacerbate kidney disease progression or signal underlying chronic conditions.
This test is intended to be performed calorie-fasted but still hydrated with water.
