This test evaluates the levels of fatty acids in your blood to provide insight into inflammation, cardiovascular health, and overall metabolic balance. It is useful for understanding omega-3 and omega-6 status and how these fats may be impacting overall wellness.

This test measures:

• RBC Omega-3 Fatty Acids (n3): Essential fats that support heart, brain, and anti-inflammatory health.

• RBC Omega-6 Fatty Acids (n6): Essential fats involved in energy production and inflammatory processes.

• AA/EPA Ratio: The balance between arachidonic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, which can indicate inflammatory status and dietary fat balance.

This lab is intended to be 8-12 hour calorie-fasted, but please ensure adequate hydration.

A provider will approve your labs, and your Lab Requisition Form will be emailed to you within 24 business hours. Labcorp will also have this on file. Please bring a valid photo ID to your nearest Labcorp location. Results will be securely emailed as soon as they are available.
