The HbA1C blood test measures the average blood sugar (glucose) levels over the past 2-3 months by assessing the percentage of hemoglobin coated with sugar. It is primarily used to diagnose and monitor diabetes and pre-diabetes and to evaluate long-term glucose control in people with diabetes.
This test does not require fasting, but it may be recommended if using other glucose related tests.
After order completion, a provider will submit your Lab Requisition Form to Labcorp, within 24 (business) hours. You will also be emailed a copy of your LRF to take to your nearest Labcorp with valid photo ID. Your results will be available in your Labcorp Patient Portal as soon as they become available, and we will securely email you a PDF copy. Email verification will be required, please check your spam folder.
