This panel analyzes your hepatic function via a Complete Blood Count (CBC) with Differential, Alanine aminotransferase (ALT/SGPT); albumin, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST/SGOT); bilirubin, direct; bilirubin, total; protein, total, C-Reactive Protein, TIBC, Ferritin, full Lipids, GGT, and Prothrombin Time. This test includes FIB-4 and APRI calculations. The FIB-4 score estimates the amount of liver fibrosis in individuals, particularly those with hepatitis C or fatty liver disease. The APRI (AST to Platelet Ratio Index) assesses the extent of liver fibrosis, particularly in patients with hepatitis C.
A provider will submit your Lab Requisition Form to Labcorp, within 24 (business) hours. You will also be emailed a copy of your LRF to take to your nearest Labcorp with valid photo ID. Your results will be available in your Labcorp Patient Portal as soon as they become available.
8-12 hour fasting prior to this lab is recommended (still hydrate) to use for diagnostic purposes.
